CITY MARKET: STILL SAVANNAH’S “EVENT CENTRAL.”
After centuries as one of Savannah’s best-known gathering places, City Market now serves as a top celebration site. This is where hundreds of vows are renewed on Valentine’s Day—and thousands of “Happy New Year” kisses are shared. In fact, almost all holidays—especially Savannah’s world-famous St. Patrick’s Day—are City Market’s prime times.
Let your spouse know you’d do it all over again. Join us in the City Market courtyard as Rev. William Hester leads a romantic ceremony renewing your marriage vows, followed by awards and prizes from City Market shops. It’s the sweetest celebration in town!
*In case of bad weather, we’ll announce a nice indoor venue nearby.*
The Festival of St. Patrick and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah will not go on as planned due to concerns about COVID-19 (coronavirus). Therefore, the Savannah City Market St. Patrick’s Day Celebration is canceled along with the parade in the Savannah Historic District.
City Market businesses will remain open and continue normal business operations. More information will be posted if this plan of events changes.
Savannah’s beautiful spirit becomes even more exquisite during the holiday season, and City Market is no exception. Stroll in the flickering light of luminaria lining our two-block courtyard, serenaded by Christmas melodies. Drop in for treats in City Market shops and watch for a glimpse of Father Christmas.
Every New Year’s Eve, City Market becomes Savannah’s “celebration central” – and this year promises to be better than ever. Drop in to one of our many restaurants and bars, stroll through the market all evening long. (Restaurants, of course, require New Year’s Eve reservations.) Join us to kick off your best New Year yet.
